A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR SOUTHERN COOK WATERS.

 

Situation:

A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers continues to affect Southern Cooks.

 

An easterly wind flow prevails over Northern Cooks.

 

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Southern Cooks:

Over waters: Moderate to fresh northeast to southeast winds. Winds becoming predominantly southerly at 20 to 25 knots from later tomorrow.

Moderate to fresh northeast to southerly winds.

Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Rough seas.

Further outlook: Showers and thunderstorms continuing. Strong

winds continuing and developing over land areas.

 

For Rarotonga:

Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Occasional showers, heavy at times and isolated

thunderstorms. Fresh to strong southerly winds developing.

 

For the Northern Cooks:

Partly cloudy with brief showers.

Moderate easterly winds, fresh at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Further outlook: Fine apart from brief showers.
