Weather Bulletin issued from CIMS NIKAO JULY 26th 2024 at 05:30am CILT.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL SOUTHERN COOKS WATERS
AND IS NOW IN FORCE FOR THE LAND AREAS OF SOUTHERN COOKS.

A STRONG WIND WARNING PREVIOUSLY IN FORCE FOR NORTHERN COOKS WATERS
IS NOW CANCELLED.

Situation:
A northeasterly wind flow prevails over Southern Cooks. Meanwhile a
trough of low pressure is expected to affect Southern Cooks from
tomorrow.

A weak trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers
continues to affect Northern Cooks.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Southern Cooks:
Over waters:
Northeasterly winds 20 to 30 knots.  Winds gradually
turning and becoming northerly from later today.
Over the land areas:  Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds, gusty at
times. Winds gradually turning and becoming northerly from later
today. Rough to very rough seas.

Cloudy periods with brief showers tomorrow with rain and thunderstorms developing from the west later tomorrow and spreading to the rest of the group.
Moderate easterly winds. Winds gradually turning and becoming northeasterly from tomorrow.
Moderate seas.

Cloudy periods with some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms.
 

Further outlook:    

Strong northwesterly winds 20 to 25 knots
developing over land areas.
Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Cloudy periods with some showers and possible isolated thunderstorms.
